Reporting & Dashboarding Leadership: Role & Process Overview

Overview:

In this role, I developed and delivered ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports for the executive team, working closely with the CFO to provide actionable insights. These reports directly informed departmental performance reviews and company-wide strategic planning, ensuring that leadership had access to the right metrics for operational decision-making.

I also became the Looker lead within my department, setting up 50+ dashboards across various teams to empower data-driven insights. Additionally, I worked with merchants such as Chase, Nuvei, AMEX, and ConnexPay to ensure accurate chargeback status management and timely resolution of cases.

My Role(s):

Report Developer & Analyst:

  • Created, automated, and maintained ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports for the executive team and key stakeholders.

  • Collaborated directly with the CFO to provide performance insights and strategic recommendations.

Dashboard Lead & Looker Expert:

  • Led the design and deployment of 50+ dashboards across departments, enabling teams to monitor KPIs and track progress efficiently.

  • Provided training and support to non-technical users, helping them gain insights from Looker dashboards and self-serve analytics.

Chargeback Status Management:

  • Ensured the accuracy of chargeback cases by working with key merchants (e.g., Chase, Nuvei, AMEX, and ConnexPay) to resolve and close disputes.

  • Managed case tracking and updates, ensuring that disputes were handled efficiently to minimize financial losses.

Process & Workflow:

Reporting & Performance Analysis:

  • Developed strategic reports tailored to the needs of different departments (e.g., loss prevention, accounting, operations).

  • Automated reporting workflows using SQL queries and visualization tools.

  • Ensured timely delivery of reports for monthly and quarterly reviews to track performance against business goals.

Dashboard Creation & Data Exploration:

  • Designed and implemented interactive dashboards to monitor KPIs, trends, and operational metrics across departments.

  • Collaborated with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and align dashboards with business needs.

  • Trained teams to use Looker dashboards, empowering them to explore data independently and gain meaningful insights.

Chargeback Management & Collaboration:

  • Maintained chargeback status accuracy by collaborating with merchants such as Chase, AMEX, and Nuvei to close cases efficiently.

  • Regularly monitored dispute statuses and provided updates to relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with financial goals.

Insights & Executive Collaboration:

  • Worked closely with the CFO and executive team to provide data-driven insights and identify areas of improvement or concern.

  • Conducted trend analyses and variance reporting, delivering executive summaries with actionable recommendations.

Outcome:

Through this role, I improved the accuracy of chargeback reporting, minimized financial losses, and ensured disputes were resolved promptly. My work on automating reporting workflows and setting up 50+ dashboards significantly enhanced the accessibility of data across the organization. By providing timely insights and collaborating with the CFO, I contributed to data-driven decision-making and supported the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
